Clayton Kloesel, a resident of La Vernia, Texas, and a PS Energy lineman has tragically passed away. He was confirmed dead through a social media publication that read “RIP Clayton Kloesel.

We are gonna miss this big fella, hell of a guy! My sincere condolences to his family. My condolences to the rest of the crew as well. Y’all say a prayer for his family, friends, and co-workers.”

The lineman has been identified as 32-year-old Clayton Kloesel by the medical examiner. According to officials, the CPS Energy lineman was electrocuted early on Tuesday morning while attempting to restore power to San Antonio’s far west side.

Around 4:30 in the morning, Bexar County deputies were called to the 8400 block of Percheron Pass near Culebra Road in the county’s far west about an incident.

Kloesel was electrocuted, according to the BCSO, while working on a power line. Around 5:30 a.m., deputies arrived on the scene and started trying to save his life, but he was declared dead. A vigil was held in memory of Kloesel by community members shortly after his passing.

Clayton Kloesel was a resident of La Vernia, Texas, and a PS Energy lineman for 11 years. He was a devoted father to his three boys Hayden, Grayson, and Chance, and a cherished spouse to Elizabeth Kloesel.

Clayton was the most modest person I have ever met and a wonderful friend. He had a deep commitment to his work as a lineman and was meticulous in his work, paying close attention to even the smallest details.

He wanted to train the next generation of professionals in the field so that it could advance because he was a brother’s keeper. It was impossible to ignore his affection for his wife, children, hunting, fishing, and, most of the time, sucking it up at golf.

Kyle Roberts is organizing a fundraiser to help support Clay’s family during this unimaginable time. The GoFundMe page organized to raise $200,000 has raised the sum of $47,233 at the time of this report.

The fundraising page reads “Clay was a man of immense kindness and love. He had a sailor’s mouth but an even bigger heart. His sense of humor and warmth touched everyone he met, and his love for his family was evident to all who knew him.”

“Clay had a passion for fishing and hunting, and some of the family’s fondest memories are of the times spent together in nature, enjoying these activities. His legacy of love and adventure will live on through his children, but they need our help to navigate the difficult road ahead.”
