Dr Jeff Shafer O’Fallon IL Death, ER doctor at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital has died – Celebsity


O’Fallon-Shiloh EMS medical director and an ER doctor at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Dr. Jeff Shafer of O’Fallon, Illinois has sadly passed away. He was announcement dead by O’Fallon Fire Rescue that read “We are sad to hear of the passing of Dr. Jeff Shafer. He will be missed by so many.

Jeff was a firefighter with O’Fallon Fire for a few years and with O’Fallon EMS and an ER doctor at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. He had a lot of friends in Public Safety and his passing will be hard for his family, friends and anyone who knew him. Rest In Peace.”

He was a native of Metropolis, Illinois, and 1996 graduate of Massac County High School. Jeff studied at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Words cannot describe what an amazing human Jeff was, and his significant impact on the EMS community.

In the early 2000s, Jeff worked as a paramedic with O’Fallon-Shiloh EMS while attending medical school. Later in life, Jeff came back to O’Fallon to serve as our medical director.

Most importantly, beyond his professional role with OEMS, Jeff was a mentor, a role model, and a good friend. His impact on EMS providers and first responders cannot be overstated. Dr. Shafer was more than just a mentor – he was a guiding light for countless professionals in the field.

His door was always open, ready to listen and turn every question into a valuable learning opportunity. His passion for education was infectious, constantly encouraging people to pursue further knowledge and growth.
