Adelaide motorist stabbed in suspected road rage incident, victim Identified

During an apparent road rage fight in inner Adelaide last night, a motorcyclist was stabbed in the back. About nine o’clock at night, witnesses reported a “violent altercation” between the rider of a black Suzuki motorcycle and two occupants of a black VW Golf at the traffic lights in Blair Athol. This prompted emergency services to be dispatched to the scene on Main North Road at the Gepps Cross intersection.

When police and paramedics arrived, they discovered that the motorbike’s rider, a 21-year-old guy from Pooraka, had been stabbed in the lower back.
He was brought to the hospital to receive care for non-life-threatening wounds. The VW Golf was last seen heading north on Port Wakefield Road, and its two occupants fled the scene.

After speaking with the VW’s registered owner, police have taken possession of the car and are taking it in for forensic testing. Investigations are still ongoing but the confrontation has been classified by police as an instance of road rage. It is recommended that anyone with dash-cam footage or witnesses to the event who have not yet spoken to police get in touch with Crime Stoppers by calling 1800 333 000 or visiting www.crimestoppers.com.
