Amanda Quinlan Amherst NH Death: Professional nanny died after hard-fought battle with cancer


Amherst NH:- A longtime Amherst, New Hampshire resident has passed away. She was announced dead by those affected by her passing. Amanda Quinlan died at her home on June 7, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with cancer, she was surrounded by her loving family. Thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.

Who was Amanda Quinlan?

Amanda J. Quinlan was born on June 21, 1976, in Norwalk, OH. She was the beloved daughter of John R. and Susan E. (Eggleston) Tyler. Amanda was raised and educated in Ohio, graduating from St. Paul High School in 1994. After high school, she attended English Nanny School and pursued a career as a professional nanny, dedicating her time and love to caring for “her” children. She remained friends with many of these children as they grew into adulthood. Eventually, she moved east to Watertown, MA, where she met Robert Quinlan.

The couple married and later settled in Amherst, where they have lived for eleven years. Amanda was an avid traveler, visiting destinations such as Paris, Rome, Monaco, and Greece. She also loved attending Broadway shows in New York, enjoying productions like Miss Saigon, Little Shop of Horrors, and Les Misérables. Additionally, she was a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Browns.

Survived by

Survivors include her loving husband, Robert Quinlan of Amherst, NH, their two children, Elsie and George Quinlan also of Amherst, NH, her parents, John and Susan of Norwalk, Ohio, two sisters, Brooke (James) Gfell also of Norwalk, Ohio and Erin Tyler (Hoyt Cruse) of Alexandria, Virginia.

Predeceased in death by

Amanda was predeceased by her brother, Sean Tyler, Grandparents Robert & Margaret (Heitz) Tyler as well as Robert & Mary Ellen (Quilter) Eggleston.

SERVICES: Following her wishes there will be no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the St. Christopher Catholic Church, 62 Manchester Street, Nashua, NH. Burial will follow in the Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua, NH. All are invited to meet directly at church on the morning of mass.
