Colt Gray, a 14-year-old Apalachee High School student, has been identified as the culprit and will be prosecuted for murder.

An old buddy of Gray’s who went to elementary school with him in the third grade posted the picture.

Following reports of an active shooter at the school, law officers moved quickly to the location and arrived just before 10:30 a.m. Students were evacuated to the stadium while dozens of law enforcement officials and emergency vehicles encircled the school.

Students are getting help from the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office to get back together with their parents. There will be buses available for transportation.

Investigations are still ongoing into the shooting’s circumstances. According to Sheriff Jud Smith, there is no known relationship between the victims and the perpetrator.

Kolten Gray, a different student at the institution, has reportedly been implicated. These reports don’t add up.

David Phenix, a special education math teacher, has been named as the first casualty in the tragic Apalachee High School shooting.

Although Phenix lived to tell the tale, he was shot in the hip and foot, breaking his hip bone. He was sent to the hospital right away for an urgent operation.

Anonymous tips on online threats to carry out a school shooting at an undisclosed site were received by the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center in May 2023.

There were pictures of guns in the threats. After determining that the post originated in Georgia, the FBI forwarded the data to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

A 13-year-old boy who was recognized as a potential suspect by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was questioned, along with his father.

The suspect did not have unsupervised access to the hunting rifles in the house, according to the suspect’s father.

The suspect refuted the threats that were made.

For ongoing surveillance, nearby schools were notified.

There was no probable cause for an arrest at that time nor for additional local, state, or federal law enforcement action.

The residence of Colt Gray, the 14-year-old suspect in the Apalachee High School shooting, together with his father and two younger siblings, is shown in a photo as being in Bethlehem, Georgia.

The house and the school are around six miles apart.

This is a work in progress and will be updated as new details become available.
