David Mullins Albany GA Death: Deerfield-Windsor student-athlete died in car accident
ALBANY, GA:- A Georgia high school football player has died following a deadly car accident that happened in south Georgia early Monday morning. The victim has been identified as David Mullins. According to reports, David Mullins, a resident of Albany, Georgia passed away from injuries sustained in the motor vehicle crash.
How did the crash happen?
The crash happened around 2 a.m. in Terrell County. According to troopers, a Ford F-150 was traveling south on Bobby Locke Road when it took a turn off the highway, struck a culvert, and took off into the air. Next, the truck struck a guy wire. Vansh Patel, the truck’s passenger, was thrown out. Head Football Coach Brian McCrae posted a picture of him in uniform on Facebook, writing that, “Last night we lost our big guy. Our rock. The Lord took David Mullins from us last night and none of us are ready to let him go.”
What happened to David Mullins?
The vehicle struck a tree. At the scene, the driver, identified as David Mullins by his former football coach, was pronounced dead. Patel was brought to Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital. His health status remains undisclosed. Mullins was a lineman and defensive tackle for the varsity football team at Deerfield-Windsor High School. Sunday was the graduation from the little private school in Albany.
