Death: Angela Bofill, American Singer & Songwriter has died unexpectedly, music community mourns


Angela Bofill, an American singer-songwriter, passed away unexpectedly. On Friday, June 14, 2024, her death was formally declared as a result of recently published social media posts revealing her untimely passing. When word spread of her unexpected passing, many hearts were wounded. Many people have not held back in sending their sincere condolences to Angela Bofill’s family since the news of her passing broke. They have also paid respect to her in remarks that were just released. No cause of death has been disclosed as of yet.

Angela Bofill Life & Career

Born on May 2, 1954, Angela Tomasa Bofill is an American singer-songwriter whose parents are from Cuba and Puerto Rico. Bofill began her professional career in the mid-1970s, having grown up in New York. Bofill’s most well-known songs are “This Time I’ll Be Sweeter,” “Angel of the Night,” and “I Try”. Bofill has been employed for almost 40 years.

Bofill was born in the Brooklyn district of New York City on May 2, 1954, to a Cuban father and a Puerto Rican mother. Bofill grew up in The Bronx, listening to Latin music and drawing inspiration from African-American performers. When Bofill was younger, she would spend her weekends learning classical music and singing with the best vocalists from all five of New York City’s boroughs as part of the All City Chorus. Bofill completed his high school career at Hunter College High School, where he graduated in 1972. Bofill then enrolled at the Manhattan School of Music, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in 1976.
