Death: Kyree Dowd Meriden, CT, Man died following Bantam Lake drowning incident


Kyree Dowd, a resident of Meriden, Connecticut, passed tragically unexpectedly. On Sunday, June 9, 2024, it was announced that she had passed away after a friend sent a memorial to her on social media. Many people were devastated to learn of her untimely demise, which occurred while she was rescuing another person. There is no doubt that everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her will always miss her. Many have been quick to offer their sincere condolences to Kyree Dowd’s family after word of her passing spread.

You were like a brother / your family is family, along with the others growing up being best friends with Chris. You all taught me lessons intentionally & unintentionally.. Thank you for always brightening up the mood and just being the cool / kind guy you were. I’m thankful for the time we all had together. I’m glad you were so happy and doing well before life took you from us all, but I’m sorry it got cut short. Bantam Lake Accident

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s EnCon Police responded to Bantam Lake on Saturday after receiving a tip about concerned swimmers. Two males, ages 16 and 27, were suspected of being involved. According to reports, the 27-year-old male dove under and never surfaced. Emergency personnel from the Fire Department, EMS, EnCon Police, and Connecticut State Police were at the lake. An underwater search was initiated.
