Dr. Mark Maslovich Alma MI Death, Obstetrician & Gynecologist Mark Maslovich MD has died


Obstetrician & Gynecologist Dr. Mark Maslovich MD of Alma, Michigan has sadly passed away. He died on Saturday 1st June 2024 at the age of 59. He was born on June 3, 1964, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada to Walter and Marlene (nee Lykoff) Maslovich. His journey in life was defined by a deep-seated commitment to serving others, a passion that would shape his career in medicine and leave an indelible mark on the lives of countless individuals.

Dr. Maslovich’s academic pursuits began with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, laying the foundation for his future endeavors in the field of medicine. He pursued his medical degree at the esteemed University of Western Ontario, where he honed his skills and cultivated a profound understanding of the human body and its complexities. After completing his medical education, Mark embarked on a journey to Northern Ontario, where he served as a family physician for two years. It was during this time that he discovered his calling in obstetrics and gynecology, recognizing the unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on women’s health and well-being.

Driven by a thirst for knowledge and a genuine desire to excel in his field, Dr. Maslovich relocated to Ann Arbor to undertake his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Here, he immersed himself in the intricacies of the specialty, refining his skills under the guidance of seasoned professionals and mentors. In 2019, Dr. Maslovich’s journey led him to Alma, Michigan, where he embraced the role of a general Obstetrician and Gynecologist with unwavering dedication and commitment.

His compassionate approach to patient care, coupled with his expertise in the field, quickly endeared him to the community, earning him the trust and admiration of patients and colleagues alike. Mark’s passion for teaching and his innate ability to inspire others led him to join the Sparrow Residency Faculty, where he shared his wealth of knowledge and experience with the next generation of healthcare professionals. As the director of the Sparrow Women’s Health Clinic, he played a pivotal role in shaping the future of obstetrics and gynecology, instilling in his students the values of excellence, compassion, and integrity.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Maslovich remained steadfast in his commitment to advancing women’s health care, tirelessly advocating for his patients and championing their rights. His legacy of excellence and compassionate care will continue to resonate within the halls of Sparrow Residency Faculty and beyond, serving as a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations to come.

Dr. Mark Maslovich Obituary

Mark will be loved and cherished forever by his wife Renu, children Emily (Trace Kuberski) and Liam, mother Marlene, brothers Randy (Laura), Christopher, and Terry (Jodi), nephew Ethan, niece Madelyn, mother-in-law Leela Varkey, brother-in-law Joe Varkey, and many extended family and friends around the world. Mark was preceded in death by his father Walter, father-in-law Dr. George P. Varkey, grandparents Harry and Anna Maslovich, Sam and Eleanor Lykoff, Stan Ramsay, and uncles Phil Lykoff and Steve Maslovich.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11 am at Masonic Pathways, Doig Chapel. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 4-7 pm at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Gratiot County Fair For Youth or the Gratiot County Players.
