Georgios D. Doukas, a man who embodied the essence of the American Dream, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on June 12, 2024, at the age of 71 in Dyer, IN.

He joins his parents Dionysios and Paraskevi Doukas and siblings. Georgios leaves behind a legacy that resonates not only within his family but also within the community he called home.

Georgios ventured out from his small town of birth Lidoriki, Greece to the United States in pursuit of a better life. It was here that he laid down his roots and established himself as a successful entrepreneur.

His ventures included George’s Steger Town Restaurant, Raspberry’s Pancake House, and Lidor Enterprises, which became beloved establishments in the community.

One of Georgios’s proudest accomplishments was building a life with his beloved wife Maria and raising a beautiful family. He was not just a provider but a pillar of strength for his loved ones. His unwavering dedication and love will forever be cherished by those who knew him.

Georgios’s memory will be carried on by his loving wife Maria Doukas, his sons Dionysios (Marian) Doukas, Demetrios (Yvette) Doukas, Peter (Caylin) Doukas, and his dear grandchildren George, Kalliopi, and Natalia.

He is also survived by his sister Anastasia (Vasilios) Liakos and numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
