John Hughan Death: A Norwell Middle School student has been named as the casualty of a serious accident that occurred in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. A cherished member of the music studies community, 14-year-old John Hughan, died in a collision on Friday after an SUV struck a boat trailer.

The fatal event took place on Friday, August 30, 2024. Authorities in Yarmouth, Massachusetts, say that on Friday, an SUV struck a boat trailer on the side of the road, killing a 14-year-old and wounding two more.

A person was pinned between the boat and the pickup truck towing it, according to investigators, when the incident happened on North Main Street close to the intersection of Great Western Road at around one in the afternoon. The truck’s damaged axle caused it to stop, and the occupants were getting out of the car to fix it.

Why the SUV driver failed to notice the truck and trailer parked on the side of the road is unknown. Longtime locals claim that speeding is a regular occurrence on North Main Street.

A further two people were admitted to Cape Cod Hospital. Their immediate medical status was unknown. According to authorities, the driver of the Cadillac SUV that struck the boat trailer stayed on the site and is taking part in the investigation. Whether or if that motorist will be charged has not been disclosed.
