Retired Mebane NC Fire Department John Schultz has sadly passed away. He died on Saturday 20th July 2024 after a tragic freak accident that occurred on July 17.

He was confirmed dead through a Facebook post that reads “Sometimes god calls people home and we don’t understand why. Our father went home to be with his parents this evening. Please keep our family in prayers and thoughts while we go through grieving.”‘

John Schultz, a native of West Seneca, New York, and a longtime resident of Mebane, North Carolina, left an indelible mark on the firefighting community.
