Kyree Dowd Meriden CT Death, Man died after drowning at Bantam Lake

Kyree Dowd, a beloved son, friend and partner has sadly passed away. He died on Saturday 8th June 2024 while saving a child from drowning at Bantam Lake. The news of his passing has left many heartbroken. He will be greatly missed. The news of his passing was known through a post made by his partner that says “Well on my birthday god decided to give me an angel my heart is broken but I know Kyree Dowd wouldn’t change it for the world this man came in to me and my kids life like a bowling ball he was our missing peace our hearts are broken but baby thank you for saving Nasario Howell u will forever be our hero”

A man was rescued from Bantam Lake at Point Folly Campground early Saturday afternoon, according to the Bantam Fire Company. First responders were dispatched at 12:31 p.m. and arrived at 12:40 p.m. to find the man actively drowning. EMS and Dive Team assets gathered at the command post, while boat assets reported to Litchfield Town Beach. A diver entered the water at 12:48 p.m. for the search and rescue operation. By 1:03 p.m., the diver located the victim and resuscitation efforts began.

The man was transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, and another individual at the scene was also transported for evaluation. A Life Star helicopter was called but unavailable. Emergency services from Goshen, Morris, and Connecticut State Police assisted at the scene.
