According to reports, Paddlesports Racing Association racer Marc Gillespie of Rochester New York was involved in a drowning accident that occurred on Monday afternoon. He slipped while getting off the boat, hit his head, and drowned. He died from his injuries at the scene.

New York Paddlesports Racing Association released the following statement: “During a week of celebration for our competitors in Michigan, it’s with a heavy heart we share the news of Marc Gillespie’s death.”

Marc was a competitive racer from New York who was of a very high grade. He frequently engaged in hard clashes against well-known racers such as Serge Corbin and Calvin Hassel.
