He was diagnosed with a form of dwarfism so rare that it was initially only referred to as “Matthew’s Dwarfism”. He stands 4 feet 2 and weighs 80 pounds.
He underwent 20 surgeries throughout his life, some related to a tracheotomy he needed at 5 months old, and others to repair his bow knees and adjust his hips. He faced bullying and discrimination because of his condition, but he did not let that stop him from pursuing his dreams.
