Michael Kennedy Ames IA Death, Detention Officer at Story County Sheriff’s Office Has Died
Unexpectedly, Michael “Mike” Kennedy, a Story County Sheriff’s Office detention officer and citizen of Nevada, Iowa, suddenly passed away. In a statement posted on social media, the Story County Sheriff’s Office declared him deceased, saying, “The Story County Sheriff’s Office mourns the loss of Jail Division, Detention Officer Michael Kennedy who passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024.”
Who was Michael Kennedy?
Since 1999, Michael Kennedy, also known as Mike, has served as a Story County Sheriff’s Office Jail Detention Officer. Between 1995 and 1996, he worked as the A.I. Department Manager at Iowa Select Farms in Iowa Falls, Iowa, after attending Iowa Central Community College from 1992 to 1995. Between 1996 and 1999, Mike worked at Danfoss as a CNC machinist. He also did animal care technician work at the USDA in Ames, Iowa.
Mike was extremely proud of his coworkers and his job. Todd had a keen mind and a strong will, but many would argue that his big heart is the thing that people remember him for most. He was the type of person who helped others freely and without expecting anything in return. He was a loving husband and a popular comedian who was recognized for his infectious sense of humour.
