Motorcycle Accident: Livermore, CA, motorcyclist has died tragically on Interstate Highway 580


LVIERMORE, California Motorcycle Accident: According to the California Highway Patrol, a man riding a motorcycle was killed in an early-morning collision on Interstate Highway 580 near Livermore on Thursday. At around 5:40 a.m., the CHP reports that its officers found evidence of a motorcycle collision near North Livermore Avenue on westbound I-580. They learned that the rider tried to switch between a car and a semi-truck. Nevertheless, the CHP said that the vehicle struck and ran him over.

The crash caused several lanes of westbound I-580 near North Livermore Avenue to close. The CHP reports that just one lane of the route is open. It was advised that nearby cars should expect considerable delays. There were no more facts known at the time of the crash.

The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau recognized the rider who passed away on Interstate 580 in Livermore last week after it collided with and struck a big-rig on Sunday. According to the coroner’s office, the dead was Christopher Joseph Corrado, a Discovery Bay resident, 38 years old. The rider was traveling west on I-580 west of North Livermore Avenue on April 18 at about 9 a.m. when he failed to slow down for incoming traffic and crashed with the back of a Mercedes SUV. This information is according to the California Highway Patrol.

The impact of the initial accident threw the victim from the No. 2 lane into the No. 4 lane, where the CHP believes a big-rig with a trailer struck him. Then another big rig crashed into the motorcycle. A fifth automobile was also involved in the crash.
