New York resident Michael Lerner of Rockville Centre has died. With deep regret, the Village of Rockville Centre announces the demise of Rockville Centre Police Department Officer Michael Lerner. While off duty, Officer Lerner tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident. He has served the Village of Rockville Center with pride and distinction as a police officer since 2021. About Michael Lerner
During Operation Iraqi Freedom, Officer Lerner served in the USMC Corps and took part in two combat tours. He was awarded many awards, including the combat action ribbon, in recognition of his bravery. After spending his time in the military, he worked for the New York Police Department (NYPD), first as an officer and later as a sergeant, until September 2021, when he was hired by the Rockville Center Police Department. Even though Officer Learner’s tenure with the RVCPD was short, he made a big impact on the community of Rockville Centre and the department. His passion and devotion were evident in everything he did, leaving an indelible effect on everyone he had the opportunity to know.
Summary
Theresa, Officer Lerner’s ex-wife, and his four children survive him. All of Rockville Center’s village flags will fly at half staff in his honor. Future generations will always remember his contributions to humanity. His family will be overjoyed to get flowers.
