Cuyahoga Falls High School mourns the passing of one of its beloved teachers, Sean Flaherty. His untimely demise has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him, his loss keenly felt by students, colleagues, and friends alike. Sean Flaherty’s journey in education and coaching was marked by dedication, passion, and a commitment to excellence. His thirst for knowledge and desire to make a difference led him to Walsh University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, specializing in Applied Criminology and Criminal Justice, from 1998 to 2002.

Throughout his academic journey, Flaherty’s outstanding achievements were recognized through various scholarships, including the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges Scholarship, the National Football Foundation Scholarship, and several others. Flaherty’s professional career was a testament to his passion for football and education. He spent significant years as an offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, honing his skills and shaping the lives of young athletes.

From August 2006 to May 2013, Flaherty served at Wadsworth High School, where his coaching prowess and mentorship left an indelible mark on the football program. His tenure continued at Buckeye High School from June 2017 to January 2021, followed by a stint at Revere High School as an offensive coordinator. However, it was at Cuyahoga Falls High School where Flaherty’s impact truly flourished. For over a decade, he dedicated himself to the development of both students and athletes as the head football coach and teacher. Beyond the wins and losses on the field, Flaherty prioritized instilling values of teamwork, discipline, and resilience in his players. His classroom was not just a place of learning but a sanctuary where students found guidance, support, and inspiration.
