On Tuesday afternoon in Greene County, tragedy struck the community as a motorcyclist lost his life in a devastating collision involving a tractor-trailer. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), the sequence of events leading to the fatal crash unfolded swiftly. A motorcycle, ridden by Roscoe S. Johnson, 53, was traveling southbound on Van Hill Road when a tractor-trailer attempted to make a left turn into the TA Travel Center Parking. Tragically, the tractor-trailer turned directly into the path of the motorcycle, leaving Johnson with no time to react. The collision resulted in Johnson becoming lodged underneath the trailer, sustaining critical injuries.
