Two cars in an A5 collision west of Telford critically injure one man, while another dies-

Following a two-car collision in Telford, a man passed away at the scene.

Shortly after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, emergency services were summoned to reports of a collision on the A5 Watling Street near Redhill. This led to the closure of the road for many hours.

The site was attended by two ambulances from West Midlands Ambulance Service, two paramedic officers, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Tatenhill, and the Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Cosford.

An official from the West Midlands Ambulance Service stated: “Upon arrival, the crews discovered three patients.”

“A man who was the first patient was in a critical state.

He was taken out of the car with the help of his fellow firefighters, and the ambulance personnel started providing advanced life support right once. Regretfully, though, in spite of everyone’s best attempts, he was pronounced dead at the spot.

“An other individual from the same automobile had already exited the car.

After receiving treatment for possibly critical injuries, he was transported to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by land ambulance under blue lights so that he might receive additional care.

With the help of other firefighters, the driver of the second vehicle, who was a third male, was extracted from the vehicle and given medical attention for severe injuries.

“He was transported to Royal Stoke University Hospital by land ambulance.”

Three units were dispatched by the Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service from Telford Central and Wellington; in order to free the individuals within the cars, the firemen had to use cutting tools.
