Multiple enforcement officers are responding to a report of shots fired at a popular shopping mall in Mishawaka, Indiana on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
According to the report, ISP is heading to St. Joe County, University Park Mall located at 6501 Grape Rd, Mishawaka, Indiana for an active shooter call.
According to an unconfirmed report, the shopping mall has been locked down. The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently unknown as few details were made available.
People are advised to avoid the area. The suspect hhas been described as a Black male with dreadlocks wearing all black.
University Park Mall is a shopping mall in the metropolitan South Bend–Mishawaka metropolitan area and is owned by Simon Property Group.
The anchors are Macy’s, JCPenney and Barnes & Noble. The mall was originally anchored by a 122,632 sq ft Hudson’s and a 152,922 sq ft L. S. Ayres.
