He was confirmed dead through a Facebook post made on Monday 17th June 2024 that said “If you’ve climbed in PA (or anywhere else in the states, Victor was a big adventurer!)

There’s a good chance you were lucky enough to have climbed with Victor Kenderdine or saw him out on a wall, or heard about that guy with dreads who’s a total crusher.” The cause of Victor Kenderdine’s death has not been released.

Victor Kenderdine’s love affair with mountains began in his youth. Born and raised in Lancaster, he was always an adventurous soul, exploring the rolling hills and forests of Pennsylvania. His first taste of real climbing came during a family trip to the Appalachian Mountains.

His mountaineering career is as storied as it is impressive. He has summited some of the world’s most challenging peaks, including Mount Everest, K2, and Denali.

But it’s not just the big names that draw him; Victor has a penchant for exploring lesser-known ranges, often venturing into uncharted territories to blaze new trails.

His approach to climbing is meticulous and respectful. Victor is known for his careful planning and preparation, ensuring safety while maintaining a deep respect for the natural world. This respect extends to the local communities he encounters during his expeditions.

Friends and fellow climbers describe him as lively, approachable, and genuinely kind-hearted. Despite his many accomplishments, Victor remains grounded.

He can often be found sharing stories over a campfire, his laughter ringing out as he recounts both his triumphs and mishaps on the mountains.

Victor’s charisma is not just for those he knows well. He has a unique ability to connect with strangers, whether they be fellow adventurers or local villagers. His generosity and warmth have left a lasting impact on many.
