Warren Curtis Grant, 15-Year-Old Student Shot and Killed at Joppatowne High School, Identified – Celebsity

A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded at Joppatowne High School in Maryland, leaving a 15-year-old student dead after a shooting on school grounds.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Warren Curtis Grant, a sophomore from Edgewood. The devastating event occurred in the early afternoon, around 12:36 PM, when law enforcement was alerted to what was initially believed to be an active shooter situation.

As further details emerged, authorities clarified that the shooting involved only two students, and the scene was far less chaotic than feared. The 16-year-old suspect, who was attending his first day at Joppatowne High School, allegedly shot Grant in the school’s bathroom.

According to Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler, the suspect fired a single gunshot that fatally injured the young boy. Grant was immediately attended to by school nurses before being rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect fled the scene following the shooting but was quickly apprehended at a nearby apartment complex. The weapon used in the crime has yet to be recovered, though Sheriff Gahler confirmed that authorities are continuing their search.

The identity of the 16-year-old shooter has not been publicly released due to his age, but officials confirmed that he will be charged as an adult in this case. Sheriff Gahler also noted that the suspect was already known to law enforcement, having been involved in several prior incidents, though it remains unclear if he had a formal juvenile record.

The shooting has shaken the entire Joppatowne community and left residents grappling with the loss of such a young life. Harford County Public Schools Superintendent Sean Bulson expressed deep sorrow, stating, “This is a tragic day for the Joppatowne community, and our hearts are with Warren’s family.

No student should ever have to face such violence in a place meant for learning and growth.”

Parents and students alike are struggling to come to terms with the shocking incident. Just three days prior, families had eagerly attended Joppatowne High School’s opening day, excited for the new academic year. Now, the school is a site of grief, with many wondering how such violence could erupt within its walls.
